Sunday Services

Children Chapel was founded in 1998 by Pastor Shakeel Anjum in an area that was plagued by
social problems and resistant to the Word of God. In the early years, only a few children came for
worship. (Please read about our exciting history in the “About Us” page.)
Today, Children Chapel Sunday morning services are lively and dynamic with over 1000 people
attending one of the four services times. All services are the same. Please join us for any time
convenient for you!

About 75-200 people attend the 4 a.m. service. The other services
can be quite crowded with 250 to 450 people in each one. At every service, believers gather
together to lift high the name of Jesus Christ through praise, worship, and prayer. Children Chapel
offers a unique worship experience. The songs are classical Pakistani style accompanied by
keyboard, tabla, and harmonium, and many of these are the original compositions of Pastor
Shakeel and his sons. By the grace of God and the anointing of Holy Spirit, people are sometimes
healed from diseases only through the praise and worship. After the worship, believers eagerly
listen to the Word of God. Pastor Shakeel and Cathy Anjum preach a simple, engaging, and
motivational message that is easy to understand and apply to daily life. Again, by the grace of God,
many people at every service respond with repentance and the desire to change their lives. People
quickly stand up for the altar call. Just as in the Friday evening prayer and healing meetings,
miracles often take place during the service. People have been healed from all kinds of diseases
and physical pain, and people find release from stress and depression. In addition, marriages have
been saved, family relationships restored, financial problems resolved, and much more. Most
importantly, there are many testimonies of how lives have been changed by repenting of sins and
accepting Jesus Christ. Around 100 people experienced water baptism at Children Chapel in 2023.
The Holy Spirit is working powerfully among us and peoples’ lives are being transformed. Please
join us on Sunday morning!

An invitation and a need:
The Sunday morning worship services at Children Chapel are now impacting over 1000 people
weekly, and day by day the number of people is increasing. Both the pastoral team and the
congregation want to continually see more individuals and more families in our community
transformed by the power of the Gospel. However, our building capacity has almost reached the
limit, and it is difficult to accommodate more people. As you can see from the pictures, our worship
hall is very crowded. People sit closely together because of lack of space. Some people stand
outside in the hallway or sit in the ground floor worship hall and watch the service on the flat screen
monitor. In addition, our building is not big enough to accommodate all the people desiring to attend
on special days such as Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Easter. People either have
to stand outside the church building in the street, or Children Chapel has to rent another facility.
Children Chapel could reach many more people if we had additional property to extend our worship
hall. We are praying about buying the two smaller buildings next to us. However, this is very costly,
and we are lacking in finances. The congregation has eagerly accepted our challenge to give 2
million Pakistani rupees by the end of this year (about 7 thousand dollars), but this is still only 10%

of what we would need. Please join us in prayer and consider financially partnering with us to make
a building extension possible. Thanks for reading, and God bless you all!
